Unparalleled Tumpling Noodles “Fu-Ryu” : Umejima, Adachi-ku
Hello, this is Arlo!
I’ve been in a flurry of activity lately, with high fevers for two weeks in a row, but I’m finally back.
I’m back to normal life.
I thought I had corona, but I tested negative every time, so I’m relieved for now.
It’s been a week since my symptoms settled down, so I thought it was time to have some ramen.
It’s been a while since I went to my favorite noodle shop.
When I lived nearby, I used to go there up to four times a week.
It’s a great place for tantanmen that you can’t find anywhere else.

Adachi-ku, one minute walk from Umeshima Station on the Tobu Skytree Line.
It’s almost in front of you when you exit the station through the ticket gate.
I don’t think there’s any space to wait in the restaurant, so if it’s full, you might have to wait in line outside.
The restaurant is run by a couple, and they both seem to be quiet craftsmen.
When you enter the restaurant, you will be guided to your seat, so disinfect at the entrance and take your seat.
Ordering is done by order, not by meal ticket, so just tell one of them after being seated and you’re good to go.
The menu looks like this.
Note that you can’t add rice on the way!
Normally, they have regular ramen and gyoza, but since the Corona disaster, they have the above menu.
I loved the meaty dumplings here, so I just hope they come back soon.
Today I ordered the regular tantanmen and half rice!
I think the noodles are a little on the small side, so I get the impression that many people order a large portion.
I think the noodles are a bit small, so many people order a large bowl.
A bowl of rice!
The bowl of rice arrived about 7 minutes after I ordered.
The ingredients are simple: ground meat, spinach, and scallions.
The soup is quite thick, but the spiciness is very effective.
The spiciness of the sesame seeds is so strong that sesame lovers can’t resist it.
This soup goes well with white rice and gyoza.
The noodles are medium-thick.
This time, the noodles were a little softer.
There is a lot of minced meat in the soup, and this minced meat is very delicious with various aromatic spices.
It was a simple dish, but with spinach in between, my chopsticks kept going.
I couldn’t stop eating the soup, so I ended up with half a rice bowl left over (lol).
(laughs) I managed to enjoy the last of the rice with the soup that surrounded it.
No matter how many times I come here, I always want to eat this unique tantanmen again!
To be honest, I think it’s a restaurant that people like and dislike, but if you like tantanmen, you should definitely try it!
See you soon!
