It’s not a freaky thing. Limited edition ramen that I want for my main course: “Nonna Men Inosho Ogikubo”!

The other day, I went to my old haunt, Ogikubo, after a long absence.

I had some errands to run in the evening, so I arrived early to have some ramen for lunch.

It’s a 10-minute walk from the station to the now famous “Misokko Fukku”.

I headed there, wondering whether I should get the normal miso ramen or the tantanmen.

The north side of Ogikubo station is quiet except for the area around the station, so I thought it wouldn’t be that different when I arrived.

I arrived at the restaurant just in time to find it closed 10 minutes before I expected.

But there were still about 10 people in line. It is indeed a popular restaurant.

I thought I might be able to go to the back of the line, but unfortunately, the line ended for the person in front of me.

So I went to Taiyo’s Tomato Noodles on the way back to the station.

Tomato noodles are something that you can only eat here, and I like to eat them whenever I find them.

But unfortunately, they were no longer open for lunch.

So, after being kicked around a lot, I arrived at this place.

Located in Shakujii Koen, this is a restaurant affiliated with “Mendojo Inosho”, which is famous for its hot and spicy fish.

You can eat thick veggie pota with lots of vegetables.

I love veggie pota because it’s no longer a healthy food, and I feel zero guilt despite its richness (laughs).

I like tsukemen, but it was cold that day, so I thought I’d go for the normal one.

But then I saw the words “Limited Tomato Cheese Ramen” next to the ticket machine.

I don’t usually eat limited edition ramen, but on this day I had been kicked out of the Sun’s Tomato Ramen, so I decided right away!

It’s a counter-only restaurant, so I sat down where it was open and waited.

I waited for 8 minutes.

The tomato cheese ramen arrived.

It’s very Christmas-y! (It was just before Christmas that day.)

The noodles are thick and straight.

The taste of the soup is quite salty.

I thought Sun Tomato Noodle was more like a pasta soup, but compared to that, it was more like ramen.

The cheese of course goes perfectly with it, and it’s quite delicious.

If this were on the regular menu, I would definitely want to repeat it.

There are many good ramen shops in Ogikubo, including Harukiya and Marunaga, so you should definitely try them too!

At any rate, I’d like to go to Fukku again in the near future.
